Called Benchmark with a problem where my power was flickering and going out. Ed called me same day and came to my house in Ballard in a few hours. Took him no time to diagnose, while explaining the problem to me in clear language. Super helpful, friendly service!

Edward from Benchmark was great from start to finish. He reached out promptly after my initial contact, was flexible about a reschedule and gave me a decent window re when he'd arrive, which he did.
He's pleasant, but also wants to give you information you can use to help yourself. He explained and checked many small things that had accumulated. Overall we couldn't get my issue to happen during his call to West Seattle (Just like going to the autoshop, the sound never happens then!) but he went over a number of possibilities and confirmed that it was unlikely to be major issues because of XYZ in the electrical box or in the switch/bulb. I was relieved, but he wasn't finished! He left and sent a detailed follow up email so we can pretty easily (probably) remedy the situation ourselves before calling him back.

However, if needed, I'd gladly seek Edwards assistance in the future. If you just want someone to fix your problem and you're willing to just pay for the time, I'm sure he's capable of doing that too. Thanks so much!

I called Ed, the electrician to come and fix some wiring issues, outlets, and had him look over my electrical panel, among other things. Ed was prompt in responding, fitting me in after his work hours as he knew my urgency with the listing was looming.

He was super easy to work with, humous and professional at the same time. Ed gave me some perspective advice on what a housing inspector might want to see. I  added a few more projects for him to fix now rather than later.

If you're looking for a down to earth guy who knows what he's doing, fair on work ethics and a person you can trust, Call ED!  Super happy with his knowledge, honesty and friendly manner. 😊

Our dryer kept flipping the breaker.  Ed came out quickly, diagnosed and fixed the problem, all while knowledgably explaining to us what was going on. I recommend calling Benchmark Home Services if you need assistance with your electrical panel.

Ed came out to our home on a holiday and did a great job.  He explained everything that was going on with our electrical box and fixed the issue between our electrical and our dryer.  Great job! Will contact again and recommend to anyone who needs an electrician.

Ed got back to me quickly and was on site within a day or two.  He quickly diagnosed the problems in three rooms and resolved it.  He discovered other issues that he can fix before they become bigger ones down the road.  Great service.

I’ve always been the kind of person who tries to figure things out myself. When two basement lighting circuits stopped working in my older house, I spent hours checking breakers, switches, wiring, and tracing the problem with a multimeter. The strange part was that the outlets still worked, which sent me down more than a few dead ends and had me questioning my own diagnosis.

Eventually, I called Benchmark.

What stood out right away was their methodical approach. Rather than guessing or replacing parts unnecessarily, they took the time to listen to what I had already investigated, ran their own tests, and systematically worked through the possibilities. Their experience was obvious from the start.

The issue turned out to be a detached neutral in the attic wiring, something I likely never would have discovered on my own. What had become a frustrating and confusing problem for me was diagnosed quickly and repaired correctly.

Just as important, they explained both the cause and the solution in clear, straightforward terms. It’s reassuring to know there are still professionals who combine technical expertise with honest, thoughtful service.

The next time I need electrical work, I know who I’m calling.
