The Genesis of Benchmark Home Services
At Benchmark Home Services, our journey began in 2019, when two experienced and passionate electricians, Edward Hlavacek and Kirill Korostelev, crossed paths while working for another electrical contractor.
Collaboration Fosters Innovative Ideas
Ed, a seasoned job foreman, and Kirill, a skilled journeyman electrician, had collaborated on various projects, developing a seamless partnership and forming a strong bond. In the summer of 2017, they began devising innovative ideas to streamline their work and enhance efficiency.
Encountering Resistance, Pursuing Change
Despite presenting their proposals to management, the company was resistant to change. Undeterred, Ed and Kirill recognized the potential in their ideas and carefully crafted an exit strategy to venture out on their own.
The Dynamic Duo, Ed and Kirill
Edward Hlavacek brought to the table his experience in managing an electrical contracting business, impressive estimation skills, and a Washington State Master Electrician’s License. Kirill Korostelev, on the other hand, was an exceptional journeyman electrician, consistently exceeding customer expectations and showcasing a vast range of skills.
Birth of a New Enterprise
With little more than a dream and a few hundred dollars, Ed and Kirill founded Benchmark Home Services Inc. in 2019. Initially focused on providing electrical services, BHS Inc. has since expanded its offerings to include HVAC services and custom engraved phenolic labels for tradesmen across various industries.
